Crafty Individuals Open Challenge

Entering this for the CI open challenge this month It was originally made for a swap on the Cardmaking Paradise Forum

The dominos were altered using alchol ink and copic pens to colour the stamped image. I added elements to create interest. The dominos are edged with gold Krylon pen and a flower trim added. The book ties with ribbon at the sides. The pages have rounded corners the paper layers are from CI background books and stamped with varius CI stamps on the front and the back to create 'a walk in the country!'

Altered coaster swap

Wall hanging.

Loved doing this swap and i think i'm getting the hang of this altered art business. LOL

Started by priming the coaster with gesso before covering it with gold viva decor croco crackle paint. When dry I rubbed over with some Blackberry precious metal colour to highlight the cracks. Used my favourite Craft Individuals stamp set CI-364 pretty design elements and stamped the flower stem and butterfly with Adirondak ink 'currant', coloured with distress ink and cut out. Stamped one of the CI-065 love letter ladies for the focal point and added a hint of colour. Arranged all the elements adding some lace and ribbon, a charm coloured with precious metal and finished with some pearls.

Altered Keys

Key swap.

The first of our swaps this year at Cardmaking Paradise was to alter two keys. Now I know there are a bunch of old keys in this house somewhere, but could i find them!  Well I eventually got hold of a couple from other sources so could join in with the swap.

The first key I painted with viva precious metal paint, added a twist of wire and beads and topped it with a flower and ribbon.

The second key was actually a car key so decided to remove the plastic end, with great difficulty! so I could add a bottlecap decoration. I painted this key and the bottlecap with pebeo fantasy paint and while still wet sprinkled with a mix of glitter. Finished with a flower and some ribbon.

Bunting

Cardmaking Paradise Swap.

My first attempt at making some bunting! It was a last minute panic to get this made so had to run with the same design for each of my 5 pieces of bunting for the swap, they all went to different homes but I hung them together for the photo.

The background swirls etc were stamped in Distress ink Tattered Rose. The main images are from Crafty Individuals CI-322 and are gold embossed. I used a Martha Stewart border doily punch for the trims top and bottom and coloured the flower with a Peach copic pen and added a gold button and finished off with some of the new peaches and cream pearls from CI.

Summertime arch

The colours of the rainbow.

Summertime brings images of flowers in full bloom and a fairy at the bottom of the garden and so i was inspired to make that the theme for the Cardmaking Paradise arch swap and combine it with the Crafty Individuals time for summer challenge.

The base lilac card was sponged with versamark and white embossed to give a bit of texture then overstamped with foliage stamps from CI-234 and CI-207 in green ink and swirls stenciled in lilac. The main fairy image is CI-132 stamped in blue and coloured added to the flowers. Added a little clock from CI-279 in lilac and some flowers. Used lilac paper pen to make the pearls round the arch edges adding green glitter to some and to the flowers and fairy wings.

Smile swap

Happiness is....

That was the theme for a wall hanging 'smile' swap at Cardmaking Paradise. Well I was happy that Winter was turning into Spring so used that as my subject.

Made the background using silver holographic card and Luna Light Paints.... Teal, Sunrise Yellow,Sirius White and Ice Blue. Dropped the colours onto card and using a second piece 'smooched' them together and peeled apart to get the grassy texture springing up through the snow!

At this time of year the birds start sing so I made one from silver metal coloured with Stream Alchol Ink added wire and beads for tail and a bead for the eye. Stamped some grasses/flowers and musical notes.

Cut smaller circles to add interest underneath joined with some gorgeous ribbon from a friend and made a box to protect the metal bird from getting damaged in the post.

Pendant.

I used a bamboo tile for this swap, coloured with Alcohol ink, edged with silver Krylon pen and stamped with part of a stamp from Our Daily Bread Design set called Birds and Butterfly labels. Finished with a touch of silver glitter and varnished the domino so it could be used as a pendant. Added some beads to finish.

Tag swap

All about me!

First of all sorry its been a while since my last post..........i've no idea where the time has gone and very little to show for it. So without further ado on with the tag.

The latest swap at Cardmaking Paradise was a tag with the theme of all about me. Now that was a real challenge. In the end I decided on a stamped collage to represent a few things about me, coloured loosely with a sponge and distress ink.

In the tag you'll see I enjoy walking in the countyside and love dogs, especially Jordan, sadly now deseased. I love my grandchildren and my flower garden and of course art and crafts!

Bottlecaps

Its Spring!

Thats the theme I used for the altered bottlecap swap over at Cardmaking Paradise. I always find open themes really hard so as it was March I decided i'd make mine with a Spring theme.

I flattened the bottlecaps in the cuttlebug and coloured them with copic pens. I found in a craft catalogue some suitable images and using a circle punch cut them out and decoupaged them. Filled the cap with diamond glaze and added some glitter and a suitable charm.

Heres a close up of one

Mini book Swap

Hearts flowers and friends.

Thats was the theme for the mini book swap over at Cardmaking Paradise. In keeping with the theme I wanted to make my book really feminine so I used one of the Marianne design dies to make the page shapes. The background paper is from Crafty Individuals book 1.

As a book page has two sides I had to try and colour the back of each one to match. I did this by randomly dabbing various distress ink pads directly on the paper until it was covered and blended any sharp lines then stamped different images and words in the same inks. The book cover is a plain piece of card with some text stamped over.

The flower images are rub ons, the butterflies are from a decoupage, the words are stamped and the hearts are peel offs.  I'm entering this for the Flutter By Wednesday challenge #143 an open theme this week.
