Just a note.

Needed a quick card so out came the brayer and ink to make the background and used a few of my Clarity stamps to create this quick scene. Main card has a foliage watermark stamped on it with versamark ink.

For MUM

My worst crafting experience!

Well thats how this card started off. I was in need of some more glue so decided to try some Pinflair glue gel that everyones using just now. So while on the website I had a look around, as you do, and low and behold a KIT fell in my basket. It was the images that attracted me and as I wasn't feeling very creative I thought a kit would be good. How wrong was I !!! I made it up as instructed but it was the worst feeling ever, there just wasn't any of ME in it and I felt cheated.

So to satisfy my creative nature I made it into this. As my card has now became a topper the finished card is A3 folded. What do you think, an improvement or not? Don't know what i'm going to do with the rest of the kit but i definately won't be buying any more. LOL

A little bit arty.

Not a lot of crafting got done this week as my back has decided to play up and i've been kept busy looking after my patients LOL.

Heres something I made recently with a template from a very special friend. It was intended for my mum but I think its a little too arty for her liking.

Used a lovely set of darkroom door stamps 'Viva La Flora' Vol 2  and Raisin adirondack dye ink to decorate the sides. Inked the edges and added a verse stamped on a nestabilities die cut oval to two of the sides used the same dies to create a frame for the tissue opening and inked it to bring a little colour to the top of the holder.

Smile Swap

Resolutions!

I can reveal the smile I made for the TFC swap now. I don't normally make any resolutions as I can never keep them so when I saw this black and white cartoon I thought it was ideal for my smile.

The background is a piece of kitchen towel inked with a brayer. I coloured the cartoon with matching ink and glittered the snow. Words were printed on the computer.

Valentines Day

Love is in the air!

Well for all you romantics out there has it been hearts and flowers and candle lit dinners today?

This is the card I made for my hubby. I stamped 'the lovers' and greeting. Covered the long tent fold card with matching blue paper. Cut out an oval and placed lovers behind aperture. Made a panel at the side for greeting and layered hearts, trimmed with punched edge. Added a nice scallopped  oval to the aperture to finish.

Easel frame and box

For Kerry.

I made this as a gift for my DIL. I got the idea from a design for a desk calendar in an issue of the TFC online magazine.

I made an origami box from patterned paper and a sleeve for it in plain card. Using the same plain card I made the easel shape for the photo. With cream card I matted and layered the easel and cut a frame using a label die in the CB. Matted and layered a stamped and gold embossed saying, to hold up the easel.

Attached a piece of ribbon to open the drawer and used a friendly plastic embellishment for the front. Added a flower to the frame and a butterfly to the saying to finish.

That was the first time I'd used friendly plastic so was well pleased with the results.

What an Honour

Well I also have some good news to share with you.

I am a member of the forum at

http://www.timeforcrafting.co.uk/index.html

and also a VIP member of the site by subscribing to the online magazine, which means I have access to the most amazing templates designed by Sara.

Well my good news is that Sara asked me to be part of her design team for the magazine. Of course I said YES. What an honour. As part of the team I will be making finished samples for the magazine to illustrate the different styles that can be achieved from one of Sara's templates.

I've had my first assignment which can be seen in the latest issue.  As its a February edition I had to make a card with the LOVE template for Valentines Day. Heres how I did it.

Once I had the main shape of the word book cut out I covered the pages with decorative paper. Then using white card I cut out the letters LVE and coloured them with ink. I cut the heart shaped O in gold miri card. I then stamped a design on part of the inked letters using versamark. I stamped the same design all over the O then brushed it with mica powder.

I edged everything with gold pen. Added a red rose and cupid charm to embelish the O and varius gold hearts on the other letters. Inside I added a tag with a heart and a 'key' a love verse etc to finish it  all off.

Jordan

Hello everyone sorry I haven't posted for a while. Things have not been going very well at home lately. Some of you will know my hubby doesn't keep good health, well he's been rather poorly lately and i'm afraid i've been under the weather too.

Just to top it all off Jordan, my gorgeous Collie x Alsatian, has been poorly as well and after a Lymph biopsy has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. I've opted to give her treatment which hopefully will give her another year. Its her 9th birthday in a few days so fingers crossed she sees her 10th.
