For a friend.

Sorry its been a while since my last post. Not done a lot of crafting lately.........have to take advantage of the sunshine when we get it so I have been busy in the garden, out with Jordan for some nice walks or just lazing in the sunshine.

Needed a couple of cards one for a friend who needs cheering up and a simple notecard.

The HUGS and floral background are stamped and embossed in silver tinsel. Coloured the letters with promarkers, cut out and attached with foam dots.

For the notecard I used a viva decor stencil and papersoft. Stamped matching flowers, cut out and attached with foam pads.

Tag swap

To use as a cookery bookmark.

Was the idea behind the cuisine theme for this months tag swap. As I have no 'foody' stamps etc I was at a loss as to what to do for this then inspiration struck.

I reduced the size of one of Sara's templates...........a cupcake, to fit on a tag. I decorated it will stickles 'sugar strands' and a cherry! Stamped a swirly background on the tag, added some fibres and a wee verse and it was done.

For the E-mag.

With Fathers Day just around the corner the latest issue templates were aimed at men.

First up is the Pizza Box words DAD. Kept the colours nice and simple using a lovely shade of beige and brown and stamped all images, some in black and some in Versamark to create the watermark effect. Edged in gold pen to add a touch of class!

Next up is 'The Frame' what a versatile template this is. I decided to use it to make a wall hanging. I was in an 'arty' mood LOL.

Once I had the frame cut out I coloured it and a backing piece of card in a blend of pinks and purple ink (colour in photo is paler than in real life) and decorated them with stamped and gold embossed designs. The image in the frame is stamped on acetate coloured with alchol ink. Added some gold embossed die cuts to embellish and finished of with by hanging some altered bottle caps from the bottom. They are coloured with Copic pens filled with UTEE and stamped into.

Its online now......

And not to be missed! You just have to see the latest issue  of Sara's E-mag at http://www.timeforcrafting.co.uk/index.html  It features not only her brilliant designs and great examples by The Team but also showcases  the work of some well known designers in the craft world. Sara and some forum members, sadly not me :( went and had a great time at the Craft Barn Summer Craft Extravaganza http://www.craftbarnonline.co.uk/  and saw them work their magic.

Colourwash Sprays

New toys!

Where has this week gone, in fact where has the year gone? Time seems to be evaporating. Half way through June and were still waiting on summer to arrive. Well these rainy days have there consolations .......great excuse to spend time in the craft room.

This week I got really messy!!!! I have been experimenting with my new colourwash sprays. I've never used these before and boy did I get in a mess. Not a lot was achieved but I did manage to produce one card from the wreckage.

The colours are Butterscotch and Stream. Sprayed together with a splash of water produced the green panel background overstamped with a flower in black and the butterfly which is die cut and embossed with touches of black for detail both edged in gold.

The main card is stamped with the same flower and coloured with butterscotch ink then sprayed lightly with Stream colourwash. Stamped and coloured another flower for detail. Hope you like it.

Cuttlebug

First Birthday.

Went to town with the CB for this card. LOL.

Used Candy Cane Stripe embossing folder for background, inked using a brayer and Brilliance ink. Used left over from die cut frame, inked the edges, ran it through the CB with swiss dots folder and lightly sanded the surface to show  white dots. Matted using 3D foam. Cut the other elements with CB dies and coloured with Brillance ink.

Stamped 'appy' and 'irthday'  using shadow technique and coloured between to give the 3D lettering effect. Cut a little slit in Winnie the Pooh's arm to tuck balloon strings behind.
