For hubby.

My computer has been eating into my craft time again with yet more problems so just a quick and easy card for hubby this year.

Used a large spellbinders heart die as my matt for the cute recycled image. Highlighted the embossing on it with glitter pen and chalk, edged with silver krylon pen. Coloured the debossed greeting with glitter pens.

Well the Radley dog card is proving to be a top favourite with folk. Just had another commisson for one as a thank you card this time in a black and cream colour scheme.

Embedded Embossing

So simple!

This is such an easy but effective technique i came accross on the Stampin Sisters blog the other week. I cut out some flowers from background paper and adhered them to some plain white card, then all you do is pop it through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder and your done. Matt and layer as usual and I finished with some pearls in the flower centres. Told you it was easy!

Quick and easy card.

I was at a stamping craft demo on Saturday and got to stamp and emboss this lovely fuschia stamp from Clarity stamps to bring home and make into a card and here it is. Coloured with watercolour pencils, cut out and matted on a Marianne die Frame & Swirls - LR0116.

Flower fairies!

Its time for another new issue of the online magazine at Cardmaking Paradise. Issue 26 has something for everyone so if your stuck for ideas or want something different sign up now for all the inspiration you need.

My design for this issue was using Sara's Flower Star Card template.

This template was just right to make my version of the ‘flower fairies’ using a set of paper and matching fairy images I received in a RAK. I sprayed the papers with glimmer mist ‘pearl’ which keeps the original colour but gives it a nice sparkly sheen.

For the centres of each flower section I added a small paper flower with a die cut letter in each to spell the word MOTHER and ‘stamens’ made using a Marianne design die LR016.

The fairies and butterflies are cut out and glittered with Stickles ‘stardust’ which I also added to the flower centres. I added some small word tags with brads.

The larger fairy on the front is decoupaged and glittered and the stamped words are from a Darkroom Door set called wildflowers DDRS005 and finished off with a few pearls and a ribbon to tie.

Craft Barn Challenge.

Here we are again challenge time at the Craft Barn this week its using beeswax!  Again this is a product I have never used in my craft work so was very interested to see what could be done with it.  Do check out the great samples and tutorials and give them a try.

So first thing I had to do was get some beeswax!!  I was lucky enough to have a beeswax candle lurking in a cupboard. Now how to melt it? I used my encaustic iron as a hot plate and a tin lid as a melt pot! Now down to business........

Cut a heart shape from grungeboard using spellbinders die, brushed beeswax over it. Dipped the lace in beeswax and placed it accross the heart. Cut out an image from CI background book, dipped in wax and added it. Repeated the process with the flowers and ribbons. One scrunched up for flower centre and one hanging down with wire scrolls to decorate.  Added a gold heart dipped in wax and brushed more wax round edge of main heart for texture. Brushed on perfect pearls to finish.

Racing car

Need for speed!

Had total creative block this week when trying to come up with ideas for a special card for my son so was not impressed with the finished article!  Simple matting and layering and a decoupage racing car. Made a couple of finishing flags using a diamond pattern background stamp from Crafty Individuals and cocktail sticks finished with peel off greeting and borders.

friendly plastic card

The finished card.

Heres the card I made using the friendly plastic heart from the previous post. Keeping the design very simple I stamped the flourish from Crafty Individuals on a satin finished pink toned card using black ink and got this lovely green as a result which was perfect for the heart as it has pink and green in it although the photo doesn't really show the lovely colours. Stamped the Happy Birthday and added some pale green pearls and small hearts to finish.
