Flip Flops

Posted by Christa on July 9, 2012 at 5:15 PM Comments comments (1)

Sunshine anyone?

Definately not in Bonny Scotland but I do have a pair of flip flops to help you dream of warm sandy beaches.

This is the latest template from Sara at Cardmaking Paradise  along with a lovely little box to send them in. I thought it would be fun to make a pair for the Olympics as well as one for the beach.

Good luck or not....

this new template from Cardmaking Paradise is very versatile. I designed two versions one as a lovely wedding card and the other as a good luck card but there are many options why not pop over to see what Lainey, the other design team member, made for her horseshoe design, you won't be dissapointed.

For the wedding horseshoe I used a Sugar Nellie stamp 'First Dance' and a Lily of the Valley sentiment. Coloured with promarkers and added some sparkle to the dress etc with stickles 'frosted lace'.

The good luck horseshoe black cat image is off the internet, the tartan background is from a pad by Southfield. Spellbinders shapeabilities Fancy tags 2 for the design at top.

I had trouble getting a good photo that showed the blue glittery material I covered the mask card with and the shimmery pink paper round the eyes, but I hope you get a feel of how it looks in real life. Pop over to Cardmaking Paradise to see lots more ways to decorate this template.

Watering Can

Its addictive...

The latest template at Cardmaking Paradise is so easy to make and suitable for so many occasions I just couln't stop making them. Here's some of them.

For this one I used background paper from Crafty Individuals springtime book, one for the watering can and another to cut out flowers to layer as embellishments.

This one is dry embossed in the cuttlebug using the polka dot folder in reverse and the images stamped and embossed. Added glitter for some sparkle.

I did the same for this one but I inked the folder first to give a nice crisp edge to the embossing to make the impressions stand out more.

And finally this one I used glimmer mist to colour the white watering can, unfortunately the glimmer doesn't show in the photo. Die cut flower and stem and a shrink plastic embellishment using the smaller of the templates.

Hope you like them and are inspired to try one for yourself, or two, or three......

Christmas Dove

Dove template.

Time for another design team card for Cardmaking Paradise this time not only a lovely dove shaped card  template but also a set of different sized doves. I used the largest of these to make this A5 Christmas card.

The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug Holly Ribbon folder. I used Archival Library Green to stamp the Sentiment from Papermania 'A silent night' set and the Holly corner stamp by Clarity stamps. Also used the Marianne Design die LR0129, Fiskars Holly Border punch, Stickles 'Stardust’ glitter glue and a Gold Krylon pen.

Design time again.

Time for another lovely template from Sara at  Cardmaking Paradise. Here it is, a beautiful butterfly easel card. I embossed the butterfly in a Cuttlebug folder then inked the raised surface with Perfect Plum Stampin Up ink and repeated the process for the base mat. Sentiment is a stamp from the See D's Springtime Set 50501. Silver Krylon on edges, flower embellishment and gems to finish.

Waving arm card.

This card is made using another clever but simple template from Sara at Cardmaking Paradise. Theres some fabulous samples of male cards using this template.

The background paper is from Forever Friends with love 6x6 pad. Stamps by Papermania from summer bloom, lazy days. Used Stampin Up ink Pink Passion and Gable Green.

You can't tell from the photo but the butterflies will 'fly' above the card as you turn the wheel at the side

Cardmaking Paradise.

Another beautiful template to work with from Sara this month. It is so quick and easy to make up.

I used white card and stamped the top section using the Crafty Individuals crackle stamp CI-116 with Versamark and embossed with clear powder to act as a resist then coloured with Adirondack Sunshine Yellow and Red Pepper blending with a sponge.

The back section is coloured in the same way. The quote is from an Elusive Images set stamped in Red Pepper. I used a Marianne Design die LR0116 for the gold swirly bits and finished with some flower embellishments, gems and gold Krylon pen round the edges.

Flower star card

Flower fairies!

Its time for another new issue of the online magazine at Cardmaking Paradise. Issue 26 has something for everyone so if your stuck for ideas or want something different sign up now for all the inspiration you need.

My design for this issue was using Sara's Flower Star Card template.

This template was just right to make my version of the ‘flower fairies’ using a set of paper and matching fairy images I received in a RAK. I sprayed the papers with glimmer mist ‘pearl’ which keeps the original colour but gives it a nice sparkly sheen.

For the centres of each flower section I added a small paper flower with a die cut letter in each to spell the word MOTHER and ‘stamens’ made using a Marianne design die LR016.

The fairies and butterflies are cut out and glittered with Stickles ‘stardust’ which I also added to the flower centres. I added some small word tags with brads.

The larger fairy on the front is decoupaged and glittered and the stamped words are from a Darkroom Door set called wildflowers DDRS005 and finished off with a few pearls and a ribbon to tie.

Cocktail easel card

Hello again can you believe thats February almost over already one good thing though.........spring is just around the corner.  Lovely to see the garden starting to come to life again, theres snowdrops, crocus and primulas flowering bringing some colour to brighten things up after such a long hard winter.

My card for the latest Cardmaking Paradise magazine is also full of colour. Theres some gorgeous samples to inspire you in issue 24 and if your an altered art fan its not to be missed!

Easel cards are very popular just now and Sara shows just how versatile they are with this cocktail template. I used acetate for the 'glass' and some variegated card for the cocktail. I found the perfect paper for the drinks coaster...........tropical palm trees so had to add the sunshine and shades to finish! Sorry rubbish photo again.
