Masked ATC

Micro bead challenge......

On the Craft Barn blog.

Haven't had inky fingers for a while so decided to try my hand at some masking techniques and use them to make my ATC entry for this challenge.

Used a die cut for the side border mask and a paper mask for the main image. Added the purple micro beads to the edge of the border masked area and on the dress in the image.

They don't show too well in the scan so tried a photo and got a brilliant shot with the flash!!! Have posted one of each.

40th Birthday

Commissioned cards.

I was asked to make some 40th birthday cards for a lady who loves Radley bags so this is what I came up with.

Card no 1

I decided to make the card in the shape of the Radley dog which is a nice simple shape to follow. I made the base card in black and matted it in cream. I kept the embellishments simple, just a few black die cut flowers and 'dog tag' 40th birthday greetings. Finished off with a few faux stitches round the edge.

 Card no 2

Did this one in the shape of a 40 using Saras template, covered in pretty paper and added a cute teddy decoupage and a few flowers.

Card no 3

This one is in the shape of a handbag as was requested. I adapted one of Saras templates and added the compulsory Radley dog!

Card no 4

Request for this one was colourful with Happy Birthday Mum on front and a springy 40 inside..................Hmmmm!!!

Hope this fits the bill, not quite a springy 40 but it is quite colourful. The Happy Birthday words on the front are decoupaged and the ribbon unties to reveal the pop out 40.

Sorry the photos are so dull the lighting is really poor just now with all the wet weather and dark evenings.

And the final card is a stamped image coloured with promarkers. ( Scanning has done the opposite to photos..............colours are not this harsh in real life)

Added some glitter to image and varius embellishments.

Hope she likes them.

Carousel for Caitlin

Five years old!

Hard to believe my granddaughter is five already. She likes ponys so that was the theme I chose for her birthday card this year. I decided to give it a fair ground feel and made a carousel type horse. I got the idea from something I saw months ago and actually remembered.

The horse is double sided with a kebab stick for the pole. The canopy is the cutout from the purple card at the side, with a yellow punched edge and dome decorated with flowers from the same paper I covered the horse with. Added some glitter and strings of pearls.

I put beads on a kebab stick for the side and added the die cut greeting and no5 on mirri card, which i also placed behind the carousel. Finished off the card with a few more flowers, flouishes and pearls.

To complete the fair ground theme I altered a large tub from some drinking chocolate using matching paper from her card to create a lovely container for Caitlin to keep her little bits and bobs in.

Catch up.

Time is running away with its self these days and with the nights drawing in they just seem to disappear. Its wet and windy again today so it was lovely to get some good news to brighten the World of Warcraft card has been picked as one of the top five in the Crafty Cardmakers challenge so I get a blinkie to add to my side bar. Thank you ladies.

Hope your all having a lovely day.  I appreciate you stopping by and leaving such lovely comments.

Movember campaign

Grow a moustache!

Well maybe not seeing as most visitors to my blog are female!! LOL.

Heres a small extract about Movember

The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.

Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.

The funds raised through Movember’s UK campaign benefit the The Prostate Cancer Charity (TPCC), the UK’s leading prostate cancer charity.

The money raised as a result of Movember is channelled by our men’s health partner into a number of world class and innovative education, support, research and awareness initiatives.

Just thought i'd give this worthy cause a mention and if anyone wants to support it with a donation would you mind supporting my son also who is growing a moustache for 30 days this month to raise money for this charity.
